My college Newspaper, University of North Florida's Spinnaker, was awarded with the ACP's 2005 Best of Show award for overall content, design, and photography, for a 4 year print tabloid.
I'm the Photo Editor of the publication and take my job rather seriously.
Does anyone know if this award carries any weight on a resume?
Any award from an association or society carries good merit. Any "Best of Show" title will always look good. Listing it now with little or nothing else there says more than an empty line on the resume, right? I'd slap it on there if I were you, at least until you have some serious major awards under your belt. Recognition is always good thing, just don't overdo it or have too many little, insignifcant awards to muddy up the pond.
P.S. If this helps at all, I was able to Google the award and have it retrieve it within the top 3.
