I am not a beginning photographer as I have been publishing a few years as a staffer but I *am* a newbie on the freelance side.
While I have pitched freelance writing in the past, I have become increasingly interested in selling my photo stories. My employer has agreed that whatever I do on my off time is mine and I just purchased a digital D-70 Nikon of my own.
I just finished shooting a picture story for example but I am not sure how to proceed? Is it the same as writing a query? In this case, the story was on a national Japanese theater troupe. I had to shoot without an an assignment as they were only in town briefly. I was fascinated by the process of their work so I just went for it.
Any advice or tips would be appreciated.
