Hi. I am an emerging photographer who specializes in portraits. In 2006 I did a portrait session with a then friend of mine. Since I was new to the business and at the time she was a good friend of mine, no release was ever signed. The photos have been on my website since the shoot, but I just received an email from her asking me to remove the photos and not sell any of them in the future. Her reason is that she is "uncomfortable with them being out there." Here is a link to the photos: http://www.kelly-williams.com/PortfolioBridget1.htm. In reading over the ASMP legal site, I am assuming that I will have to remove the photos as she wishes, but I wanted to double check on this forum. Again, the photos have been public since 2006 and they were taken under the pretext that they would be part of my public portfolio.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. And yes, all of my now and future shoots involve releases. A tough lesson learned.
