Anyone using this...30" NEC MultiSync LCD3090WQXi?

Spectra View software enabled. I guess the SV kit is an add on.

Looking for new monitor for photoshop work. I also edit in FCP. This monitor has no HDMI, but if the color is it's best feature, I'll get an HD monitor for the video playback.

BTW... this forum is a chore to use!

I'm using one of these as well. It gave off a considerable amount of heat prior to the arrival of the SpectraView II calibration software. Once calibrated she has been very pleasant. Calibration is the easiest I've encountered thus far. I've used both Monaco by X-rite and Spyder. The NEC 3090 set up is a clear winner.

The little brother is the 2690.

I have a lcd2690WUXi, which I like very much. The color and the stability are excellent. I would hope that this extends to the 30" model.

Has anyone tested SpectraView II on the most recent version of OS X, 10.5.8? It worked on 10.5.5, failed under 10.5.6 and then worked again under 10.5.7. I don't want to move to 10.5.8 until I know that it works with it.

Thanks,
Bruce

I finally upgraded to Mac OS 10.5.8. SpectraViewII failed just after starting the calibration. Fortunately, it restored the monitor to its previous calibration.

I don't know if the fault lies with NEC, Apple or both. I do know that I would not recommend displays that rely on SpectraView to Mac users at this time.

You are wasting your time posting anything to these dead forums. Wonder over to Luminous Landscapes forum (http://luminous-landscape.com/forum/index.php?) ask there. I'm out of here like everyone else, but at least go somewhere there's a sign of life and you'll get the question answered. This place is a ghost town.

Thanks for the tip, Andrew.

For the record, I need to retract my statement made above. There is a new version of SpectraViewII. It works in OS X 10.5.8. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Note that the software does not automatically query for updates. You must do that manually.
