I am about to purchase an Intel based Mac. Is there any reason to get more than 8GB of memory in order to function well with PhotoShop? Could more memory come in handy if I decide to enter video editing?

Hello. IS ANYBODY HERE! Hello. Hello.

No response. Oh dear. I think I'm the last one. Where are the others? It's been so very long since they have come here. I'm the last one.

Just in case there is another and he stumbles upon these words: I went with 16 GB of RAM. Farewell.

Most of the old regulars have migrated over to http://www.prophotoforums.com. It's not as active yet as this once was but it's getting better. And at least it doesn't have this horrible interface. It's makes me sad thinking about how great this place was.

And its very sad that something as simple as an interface can destroy a community. The best was the Rob Galbraith forum. The discussion there was outstanding! I haven't seen anything like it since. And it ended for the most ridiculous, small minded BS. What a waste.
