The index page is not very inviting to say the least, IMHO. You might want to put copyright info on a secondary page, or if you feel you must have this info on your index page, at least get rid of the ALL UPPER CASE lettering. Good luck with your new site.
the copyright notice seems a little extreme to me to not much of a grabber for your opening page. I think your stuff is great but could use some editing.
Scotti and Doug - I'm not sure I agree with your assessments of my copyright agreement page, but I can see how it could possibly be described as "unwelcoming".
In this day and age of images on the web, unauthorized usage has skyrocketed. Many times the "excuse" is ignorance..
"I thought if I gave you credit, it was ok", "I only linked to your page", "I can't use this for my home page at myspace?" etc
With a large portion of my work dealing with celebrities, many of whom are popular with the myspace and facebook crowd, I would rather err on the side of losing them as an audience.. I may be naive, but I don't think that the copyright agreement should deter anybody visiting the site for a legit, work related, reason.
It will be interesting to see if there are other comments that echo your opinions of it - although I hope that this doesn't become a discussion about that alone.
I will speak with my site designer about making it a little less in your face - but, for now, I am going to leave it on the first page so there are no mistakes.
Additionally, Doug, your comment about the additional editing is fair, and I plan on thinning out the number of photos in each gallery.
Thanks to you both for the comments.
Bartolomy - yes, that's Evan Seinfeld of Biohazard (and Oz) - it's from the Biohazard days before he moved to California.
