I shoot canon, but have some misc nikon stuff for sale. Are there enough nikon shooters here, that I should put a list of digital lenses/flashes/misc stuff available, or are you ALL canon, MF, or LF digital (or, for some odd reason, still film)?
I can always do ebay or craigslist, but like the idea of selling to someone I trust/know from the forum. So... thoughts?

"Nikon ED, AF Nikkor 80-200mm 2.8D" "Nikon, AF Nikkor 50mm 1.8D" "Nikon, ED, AF Nikkor 18-35mm 3.5-4.5D" "Nikon ED, AF Nikkor 24-85mm 3.5-4.5G" "Nikon, Speedlight SB-800"
I only use Canon stuff, so it's just been sitting in my gear closet. A client that I shoot for used to supply a Nikon kit for weddings, but phased them out as the bodies got old. They offered an option to keep them, and I wanted it for some of the other items that I DID use. The lenses have little wear, especially the 80-200mm and the 50mm.
I have to figure out pricing, but will entertain offers while I research recent sales on ebay. I'll send pics to serious inquiries...

Just so you know, they do make an adapter ring, to allow you to use a nikon lens on your Canon. I have one for a favorite old 24.. it works great on my 5D.

So, I get a paypal dispute tonight. It says they put my $700 on hold. This guy is claiming the lens isn't working right... I sent him a PERFECT lens, offered the chance to get usps insurance, and now this...
I hate dealing with ebay sometimes. Who knows if the box was smashed, he dropped the lens while opening it, or if he is just scamming me?!?
Now I have to go through this, and possibly an ebay/paypal dispute. Even if they do side with me, he could possibly ask his credit card company to cancel payment!!! I might wind up with a bad lens being sent back to me or worse!!!
The good news is that some of the other gear is selling to people I know, so I won't have to worry about crap like that again... Anyone else have this issue while selling on ebay before?

I offered insurance, but didn't pay for it, since the buyer refused it. I should've still done it... And I DID transfer out the funds to spend on other gear, but now paypal shows a credit of negative $500 (thanks to a $200 payment that just came in it at least doesn't read -$700). Paypal says I may get the money back when this is resolved, or I will get the lens mailed back. GRRRRRRR!!!!!!

OK, I think we have this resolved. I offered him $75 back, and he keeps the lens. I'm still getting screwed out of $75 for a lens that I KNOW was perfect when it left my house, but at least the problem is resolved. I have too much stuff going on right now to fight, though I would've fought hard and long if this didn't solve things. Live and learn I guess. From now on, I am not making insurance an option...

You can make insurance mandatory, I do this on all high ticket items or breakables. You should also copy down the serial number and many use a black light pen to mark items. This way, he could not have sent back another lens in place of the one you sent. Sometimes an email to the buyer letting them think you have done this is enough. You also need to get a signature for any items over 250.00, in case you (or anyone else) did not know that.
