What a joke this country is turning into. How hard is it to put all that great top secret info on a mini SD card or just post it on a server and get that great info when you get back into the country.
What possible reason would they need to search a laptop to see how long my battery last. They think people are that dumb they can't just put a new blank HD in the computer?
What a waste of time and money.

Neither of the probable winners has said or done anything to indicate that they will restore one single civil liberty, rein in one single official thug, and/or remove one single bureaucratic obstacle to trying to live your life. A pox on both their houses.

Is anyone protesting?
Do we still have that right?

I'd say no. To protest in any public forum is to risk arrest for trespassing, disturbing the peace, subversion, or at worst- terrorism. And if some government pinhead deems you to be an "enemy combatant", they'll throw you in the brig with no legal representation, no phone call & no access to a reporter to tell your story. If you're a member of the media who routinely points out the atrocities perpetrated by this government, you'll find yourself on a terrorist watch list, with absolutely no recourse to remove your name. Ask Drew Griffin from CNN. It's OUTRAGEOUS, but Joe Public totally buys into what the government wants them to believe, for to question authority is unpatriotic at best, and is a slap in the face to everyone who's made sacrifices to make this a "free democracy". I'm pissed.
