Actually, I would use the Vanishing point tool even without seams in the pavement, since coarseness of the texture changes with distance. Unless of course the shot was taken from directly above.

Wow, a year-old thread dredged up from the past!
I took a cue from the movie industry a while back and watered down the old driveway in front of a house. Worked great, it literally glossed over most of the imperfections.
