Eos capture using camera control to place all images in one directory that lightroom is watching through auto import. Images will come into lightroom where all adjustments and output can be done. Dennis

Aperture 2 should work tethered with 5D and leopard. There is a 30 day trial version.

NOt true. I'm using 10.5.2 with Canon EOS utility and DPP. I shoot tethered all the time.

Paul:
Can you tell us the settings and what order you do this in? I am having a lot of trouble connecting and staying connected with my 1DS MK II. Canon tells me they are not compatable with 10.5.2.
Thanks,
Terry

Paul, I have DPP 3.2 and EOS Utility 2.3.0.1 and my 1Ds2 was not recognized when I installed 10.5.2. My emails with Capture One have told me that they will not be dealing with 10.5.2 until they come out with Capture One 4Pro. Canon has not answered my questions. If you are doing so, please share your settings. Others have also been experiencing problems.

I've been using the Canon Digital Pro software I agree it's a bit confusing. I switched to Bible with no problems staying tethered. As far as the shutdown I use the 110 power supply while shooting in the studio. I have no problems whatsoever staying connected. When using battery I have the same problem.

As for settings I haven't changed anything from what I had. I do know however that unless I bring an image up on the camera's LCD screen before I plug it in and and turn it on it won't connect saying the camera is busy.
When an image is on the camera's LCD, plug it and turn it on. When the error message comes up, half press the shutter button to clear the LCD and it then connects.
To keep the camera to computer connection open, turn off the auto off function in your menu.
Hope it helps.

I haven't been able to get the Canon software to work, but I just found out that you can shoot tethered right from the image capture sofware already installed on the mac...nice!

Stacy, I'd be interested if you can use Image Capture and DPP with 10.5.2. I see that Image Capture recognizes the 1Ds2 but it doesn't make me want to download the update. I tried that once and it was a train wreck trying to back pedal to 10.5.1.

Here is a work around that is posted on Phase One's Knowledge Base. It is article 2217. It will explain how to shoot tethered with Capture One 3.7.8 and Mac OS 10.5.2. http://www.phaseone.com/HOME/Content/Support/Article.as...pportSite%20-%20Main Chris Lawery Sales Manager chris@captureintegration.com Capture Integration Atlanta/Miami (404)234-5195 cell (404)522-7662 office (877)217-9870 national

Tony- I can't really say if it will work with DPP. I just tried out the image capture software and then used ARC...and not at a real life shoot either. I'll be sure to report back next week after I try it for real PS- very pretty food shots you have! I've been shooting a lot of food lately and it's not so easy...

Stacy, I appreciate the comment.
I've been reading about Lightroom 1.4 and am curious if it's compatible with EOS Utility 2.3 and OS 10.5.2. I downloaded LR 1.4 months ago and the trial version has expired. I don't care for DPP, I just want an attractive browser to shoot tethered. The RAW converter in LR is getting good reviews so that's a bonus.

Amazing, I bought LR 1.4 and connected via EOS Utility 2.3 running 10.5.1. I updated to 10.5.2 this morning and now it doesn't work. I'd love to say it is me but I go back to my original post that the Canon Utility 2.3 is not compatible with 10.5.2. Any ideas?

I haven't been able to use any of the Canon software with 10.5.2 I'm afraid. For now I downloaded the Apeture trial and it works fine shooting tethered, but I'd rather process in ACR so when my time runs out it will be like paying $200 just to shoot tethered. Of course- it could be me too though. Not so software savvy
