Don't know if your S2 can record voice annotations like the 1Ds, but it's very easy to do on my camera. Otherwise maybe a micro cassette recorder would do the trick. Maybe just read the file numbers and corresponding name?

FWIW, my 16-35 is sharper than my fixed Canon 20mm was! Zooms and interiors are really nice to be able to stand where you need to for perspective, and crop my zooming. Physically moving a fixed lens is a completely different situation. Doesn't Nikon have a 12-24mm that will work on your camera? That would be the hot ticket for keeping it wide.

Here's my latest scout/shoot w/o additional lights: www.johnmaclean.com/20_tecolote/
note: interiors 3714 & 16 were reshot the following night at dusk. And dusk exterior was a quick composite of semi-balanced sky and foreground exposures to show client!

The thread I started about wide angle lens' for interiors to use with my S2 had Danhood recommending the Sigma 12-24.

Craig,

If the S2 Nikon mount is adaptable, maybe ask here: www.cameraquest.com/adaptnew.htm and you have the coin, I'd suggest the Contax/Zeiss 21mm www.16-9.net/ultrawides even though I just downplayed fixed focal lengths. This glass rocks and is destined for my camera bag, hopefully in the near future.

The advantage to the smaller size sensor cameras is that you're using the center sweet spot on the lenses, and thus the lower quality glass will still look semi-sweet on the frame edges.

PS - Craig, did you get my email reply to your PM?
