New update for ACR now out. New version now enables Adobe's new camera profiles. They're in beta form right now, but they really help tonal renderings. Grab 'em here: Adobe Profiles Camera Neutral seems to give a good improvement to things, also seems to increase the rendered tonal range. Have fun.

The plugin is not tied to the profiles. They're separate downloads. And the original camera calibration settings are still available in ACR, so go for it. Nothing to loose and possibly something to gain, including more learning if you can wade through the mile long profile editor instruction page!
