| All this lensbaby talk has made me pull it out for another shoot. I'll post a link if we use it for another cover. The shot turned out pretty cool, like a cross between a holga and an 8x10 view camera. | | | | Posts: 490 | Location: Dallas, TX, USA | Registered: 12 December 2001 |

I think you just broke my brain. Keeping in mind that I have not done a dedicated shoot or really much more than muck about with it when it occurs to me, here's probably my best showable shot so far with mine: Tunnel VisionThis was before I figured out that my diopter setting was off (obviously autofocus doesn't work with this thing) but it still kinda shows the sort of thing you can do with it. I have some pictures I did as part of a private baby portrait session that are MUCH better - the mother has a large print of one in her office - but I don't have permission to show them to anyone. | Tunnel Vision shows the potential of the lens. Good work. One thing I do is use a medium aperture. It gives the soft effect without making it go crazy. I'll try real hard to post a pic or link to my lensbaby images next time one is published. maybe I'll track down that recent cover to show it CAN be used for a variety of subjects... | | | | Posts: 490 | Location: Dallas, TX, USA | Registered: 12 December 2001 |

| Well, this lensbaby shot did NOT make the cover (they used a regular shot I took with the 70-200 2.8L, but it still ran as the inside shot. As you can see, the lensbaby can be used for real day to day applications, and not just artsy stuff... as soon as they make a digital back for the holga, maybe I'll take you up on that idea! | | | | Posts: 490 | Location: Dallas, TX, USA | Registered: 12 December 2001 |

| Oh, come on Janik! The Holga is a DIY camera! Why wait? Drill a hole in the back, bit of gaffer tape and just stick your PhaseOne P45+ onto it! Might take a bit of tweaking, but it's a heck of a lot cheaper than the new PhaseOne camera and you'll be the coolest bloke on the block!!!! And why stop there ? While you're at it, attach the LensBaby to the front and you're set! | | | | Posts: 209 | Location: Moscow, Russia | Registered: 06 April 2001 |

I'm just waiting for you to send me a PhaseOne back! My hassie and mamiya are collecting dust, because I've been shooting with the canon 5d instead. Newspapers and magazines don't pay enough for a medium format digital yet. But don't worry, I suspect the publications will raise their day rates any day now... | | | | Posts: 490 | Location: Dallas, TX, USA | Registered: 12 December 2001 |

| So, I just shot a $12k job using (almost) only my lens babies lens. I'd say about 95% of the images were shot with it. Not sure what the client would think if I used the term "lens babies" when describing my process, but it's the end result that matters, right?!? I'll post pics of the finished project in a couple months when it is unveiled at their grand opening... | | | | Posts: 490 | Location: Dallas, TX, USA | Registered: 12 December 2001 |

| So call it out as a "special-purpose multidimensional variable-focus-plane lens," tack on an equipment fee, and chuckle pleasantly to yourself. M | | | | Posts: 167 | Location: Chicago, IL | Registered: 24 January 2008 |

| I've got an LB II and it's fantastic especially for B&W. Something lacks in it for color use a lot of the time, but if there's heaps of contrast like a night city scene, they can be awesome as well.
