this was the best comment I read all day! Now, to the topic at hand... I have a kit in a pelican 1650 rolling case. It has two profoto acuteB packs, two heads, and two compact stands. It has a million advantages over a generator, inverter, or a battery-powered kit with one pack that can take multiple heads. It is VERY flexible. The ONLY disadvantage is that the modeling lights stay off 99% of the time, so I don't drain the batts. The modeling lights suck up the power FAST!!! This system is very portable and very powerful for it's size. Plus, it takes most of the regular profoto accessories, like the beauty reflector or the acute ring flash...

re - The Vagabond is almost back-packable material. ----
that would be a stretch - but it is compact and well packaged. it is hefty enough for weighing down a turtle base on a c-stand. we have one with two inverters and it is a wonderful unit. also comes in handy for laptops.

darned thing feels heavier but you're right. i usually don't have to carry it far and use a travel dolly if necessary. for hiking into the wilderness with it, you betcha it will be a 'mule' doing the hauling.
