I always ask people what they think, but never other photographers, so please let me have your critisism or generally what you think.

Oh, and I know its a livebooks site so lets not start another thread on that!

Cheers
Mike

I think the images look a little flat and colors pale.
Would also like to see captions on the location images at least.

I like overall appearance of your site. A nice touch how pics seems flipping like a book, but when you go previous, it still flips forward but does show the previous pic. Logically it should flip to the right, but that might be too much programming.
Like the pleasantness of hues of the site..
ps. love the bio.

Thanks guys, useful stuff.

good point about the flipping direction, I dont think that can be altered but will check.

Also, good point on captions. Little weekend job for me.

Cheers

My only critique is that you should move image #27 from the first gallery up because it's so great (the group shot)...

Really nice Smiler

I agree that the images are too flat. Especially the opening image. Looks like you've cranked up the filllight in Lightroom too much...or something. But generally there's some nice work in there.

Not sure what you're trying to say by the opening image. It's not really grabbing me. There's a few in the human environment category that speak more to me. The sail boat one for instance is really quite surreal. I keep thinking they're toys, but then see they're not...or are they. It has quite a magical feeling about it.

I agree about the previous image page flipping too. Oh, and it's a Livebooks site, but you don't want to hear that do you? Smiler

Thanks Stacy and Paul. Interesting comments.
I'm working on a new book so this is def helpful.

I'm even considering changing my LB sites, inspired by Adrian Wilson, although his new site is not to my taste, I like the way he envisaged something from a concept. I'm playing around with that kind of thing too.

Cheers
Mike

Hi mike
your site loads fast, the images are large, its clean and easy to navigate. creative/buyer/ad dream. sell the images. you have less than 30 seconds. dont waste that time on navigation or fluff. let the designers design and the photgraphers photograph, that is unless your trying to sell design to photographersSmiler
best regards
scott
ps homepage image is great! it just does not match the backround color so well. warm up that grey. eh...what do i know?
